Lava Hot Springs

For spring break, we spent a couple of days in Southeast Idaho in a town called Lava Hot Springs. There are natural hot springs running through the town that the Native Americans used to use. They were originally hot mud baths, but over the years, they have turned them into giant hot tubs. Each little hotel in town has their own little hot spring pool, but there is also a state park with several large hot pools as well as regular pools and water slides which are open in the summer. And let me tell you, these pools are hot! The hottest one you really couldn't stay in for more than a few minutes. It actually snowed on us while we were in the hot pools. It was heavenly. We had a great time just relaxing and literally doing nothing for a couple of days. Definitely worth a trip back soon!

Don't you just love those little get-aways that our family never does enough of. Just short enough and just long enough. It looks like heaven! Was it crowded or did you have it mostly to yourself?

Not crowded at all. This was kind of the in between season, so not very many people there.

Good for people to know.
